Speaking on Behalf of Sharks

Ocean Encounters Team member William Winram will be joining the Aquarium of the Bay (San Francisco) and the NRDC in a special event to support of Assembly Bill, AB 376, which would ban the sale, trade and possession of shark fins in California. This is part of a week-long speaking engagement with the NRDC, one of the largest non-profit, non-partisan international environmental advocacy group, staffed with more than 300 scientists, attorneys and other specialists.
Working constantly on environmental issues, the NRDC has supported the bill since its inception in February of this year. Of late, the shark cause has been getting a larger attention, as this article illustrates.
