EXPEDITIONS
The Ocean Encounters team spends a considerable amount of time on expeditions at sea.
Film and photographic expeditions, entirely realized on a breath-hold, gather truly breath-taking media aimed for the general public as well as scientists to support their efforts to preserve the oceans.
Scenes captured by Ocean Encounters will typically portray a breath-hold diver face to face with a large marine animal, reminding the world that humans are just mere visitors in the underwater world.
In addition, week-long trips are organized for small groups of breath-hold divers, sometimes on a live-aboard. These expeditions introduce them to large animals and teach how to respectfully interact with them. For more information, please visit our Courses/Trips/Adventures page.
Some locations for large marine animal encounters are South Africa for Tiger sharks & Great White sharks; Malpelo, Colombia for Scalloped Hammerhead sharks; French Polynesia for Humpback whales & Great Hammerhead sharks.
